I was having a small lunch sitting on a bench in the middle of the downtown Umeda, Osaka, and enjoyed feeding sparrows and doves. It was amusing to see them compete with each other and eat bread I scattered.
One dove suddendly popped onto a bench. I immidiately noticed that one of her legs was amputated. She walked with a limp until she found a place to sit next to me. I stared at her and observed her movement.
I was wondering if she could grab still a limb of trees only with one legs, if she found it easier to sit on the bench more relaxed than on a limb trying hard to stay still, and if she was feeling mortified looking at her friends.....
I'm sure that she never does have any kind of those thoughts. We, only humans think in that way. She was just doing what she had to do at the moment of her life.
Looking at her, I felt a sort of awe and respect to her. With her unsteady shaky moves of her neck, she was definetely looking at one direction, LIFE.
